Justine Larocca (River Vale, NJ/Pascack Valley) scored twice in the opening half as The College of New Jersey women's soccer team picked up a 5-0 victory over Virginia Wesleyan College on Tuesday.

The win kept 10
th-ranked TCNJ unbeaten on the season as they improved to 8-0-3, while the loss put the Marlins at 6-6.

Each of Larocca's two scores came in the opening frame with the initial goal coming with 11:16 left on an assist from sophomore
Abigail Emmert (Pipersville, PA/Central Bucks East). Her second came seven minutes later as her high entry into the Marlin penalty are bounced past the keeper and under the cross bar for a 2-0 TCNJ advantage.

The Lions doubled that lead in the second half with two goals 10 minutes apart. Sophomore
Elizabeth Thoresen (Colts Neck, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) picked up her team-leading ninth of the season after taking a nice feed from senior
Taylor Lusardi (Randolph, NJ/Randolph). That goal came 6:54 into the new period.

Thoresen was also involved on the next goal touching a soft pass back to a sophomore
Jessica Goldman (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery), who scored on a low shot to make it 4-0.

The final goal came with 6:34 as sophomore
Hannah Richman (Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.) slide the ball into the Virginia Wesleyan net with an assist from freshman
Jenna Loeser (Ocean Twp., NJ/Ocean Twp.).

Jessica Weeder (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) made one save for her ninth shutout of the season.

The Lions return to New Jersey Athletic Conference play on Saturday, October 10 when New Jersey City University comes to Ewing for a 1 p.m. start in TCNJ's Soccer Complex.
