Box Score TCNJ bounced back in style in the second day of the Wheaton Tip-Off Tournament posting their highest point total since the 2011-12 season.
The Lions got off to an early lead on a lay-up by sophomore guard, Eric Murdock '18, putting TCNJ up 17-8 at the 15:12 mark in the first half. Wheelock was able to cut the lead down to 4 with 6:38 left in the firrst half, but that was the closest Wheelock would get as the Lions took a 38-29 lead into the half.
The two teams traded buckets for the first part of the second half, but the Lions were able to control the tempo and never looked back. TCNJ exploded for 51 second half points, shooting 7-13 from three.
TCNJ went up 70-54 on a pair of free throws from freshman,
Jordan Glover '19. Junior,
Nick Alaimo '17 followed up with three of his career-high 17 points, putting the Lions up 73-54. Alaimo also added 7 rebounds to go along with his 17 points.
Glover finished with career highs in both points and rebounds finishing with 18 points and 14 boards. Murdock finished with a game high 19 points, adding 6 assists and 3 boards. Murdock was also selected to the All-Tournament team.
TCNJ goes to 1-1 on the year, with their home opener on Wednesday, November 18th at 7 PM against Western Connecticut State in Packer Hall Gymnasium.
