Winter Haven, Fla … The College of New Jersey baseball team rapped out 17 hits en route to defeating Centenary College 17-0 on Monday morning in Winter Haven, Fla.

Senior
Anthony Cocuzza (Absecon, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) knocked in a career-high six runs and classmate
Josh Limon (Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley) matched a career-best with five hits to lead the Lions (2-2) to their second straight victory. Junior
Garen Turner (Hainesport, NJ/Rancocas Valley) belted a two-run homer to highlight a 10-run third inning.

While the offense grabbed the headline, TCNJ freshman
Joe Cirillo (Fairfield, NJ/Depaul Catholic) enjoyed a great performance in his first collegiate start. He tossed eight scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and struck out three. Cirillo faced just 29 batters in the game and notched his first career win. Limon came in to pitch the ninth to record the final three outs.

Leading 2-0 entering the third, TCNJ flexed its muscle by smashing five extra base hits in the top of the frame. Junior
John Rizzi (Long Hill, NJ/Watchung Hills Rizzi legged out an infield single to start the inning. He eventually scored on a Cocuzza double to left. Turner then launched a long home run to left-center to put the Lions ahead 5-0. Limon followed with a blast that cleared the left field fence, but caromed off the netting above the fence. The officials ruled the ball in play and Limon remained at second with a tape-measure double.

Junior
Mark Mari (Bayonne, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) and freshman
Zachary Shindler (Wantagh, NY/Wantagh) each delivered two-run doubles and Cocuzza plated two more with a single to left. By the time the Cyclones recorded the third out, TCNJ held a 12-0 lead.

Sophomore
Ed Guippone (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) singled with two outs in the seventh before Shindler walked. Cocuzza belted his second double of the day two knock in his fourth and fifth runs on the afternoon.

Cirillo was sailing along in his first collegiate start. He threw blanks in his first four innings, but ran into a jam in the fifth. With two outs and runners on second and third, Cirillo struck out the final hitter swinging to secure his fifth scoreless inning of work. The righthander only permitted two more baserunners through the remainder of his outing.

Three infield errors led to three more TCNJ runs in the ninth. Cocuzza grounded out to third to plate Guippone for his sixth run batted in.

Turner finished with a pair of hits, three RBI and two runs scored. Guippone, Rizzi Limon and Shindler also crossed home plate twice. Catcher
Matt Facas (Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) finished with two hits, a run scored and a run batted in.

TCNJ is back at the ballpark tomorrow to battle The College at Brockport at 4 p.m. in Lake Myrtle, Fla.
