Ewing, NJ...In an early-season match-up of highly-ranked women's soccer teams, The College of New Jersey and Johns Hopkins University finished in a scoreless tie on Sunday in TCNJ's Adidas Classic.
 
The Lions (2-0-2) are ranked ninth nationally, while the Blue Jays (2-2-1) are fifth.
 
In the opening game of the day, SUNY Oneonta picked up a narrow 1-0 victory over Kean University.

Neither team was able to solve the opposition's goalkeeper as JHU's Clara Aranguren made 10 saves and Lion senior Jessica Weeder (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) recorded a career-high seven saves.
 
The Lions had a great chance to win the game in the opening overtime as senior Christina Roach (Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) laced a shot toward the upper portion of the net, but Aranguren was able reach up and punch the shot away.
 
The Blue Jays had the best chance in the second extra session with an in-direct kick at the top of the TCNJ penalty area, but the scoring bid sailed wide of the top left corner of the net.
 
Both teams were active offensively as the hosts had 22 shots and Johns Hopkins had 17.

The Red Dragons scored the only goal of the 37 seconds into the second half as senior Kayla Ceschini drilled in a rebound on off a shot by Keley Abbriano.
 
Oneonta keeper Rori Stark picked up the win playing the final 45 minutes.
 
Between the pipes for Kean, KC Nunez finished with four saves.
