Madison, NJ... The College of New Jersey men's soccer team remained unbeaten on the season as they came away with a 2-2 tie on Wednesday at FDU-Florham.

Earlier in the week, the Lions were rewarded for their fast start of the season as they were voted 18
th in the first National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) of the season.

The win put the Lions at 5-0-2 on the season, while the Devils are 2-3-1.

FDU-Florham scored the lone goal in the first period, but TCNJ had a big surge in the opening stages of the second frame to take the lead.

Freshman
Nick Sample (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) tied the game 4:19 into the half with an unassisted goal.

The Lions struck again less than 10 minutes later when Sample set up sophomore
Peter Dresch (Highland Park, NJ/St. Joseph's) for third goal of the season.

The Devils then got the equalizer 48 seconds later to knot the game at 2-2.

The teams then went through a pair of 10-minute overtimes, with TCNJ's
Thomas Hogue (Ridgefield Park, NJ/Bergen Catholic) nearly winning the game with a couple of good scoring chances in the first overtime.

Jake Nesteruk (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks East) recorded a pair of saves.

FDU-Florham keeper
Frank Maggiore Jr. kept his team in the game throughout with 12 saves.

TCNJ kicks off New Jersey Athletic Conference action this weekend when they head to Rutgers-Newark for a 7:30 p.m. match-up against the Scarlet Raiders.
