Ewing, NJ... The College of New Jersey women's soccer team and Stockton University battled for 110 minutes only to come away in a scoreless draw on Wednesday.
Â
The Lions carried play holding a 24-6 advantage in shots, but neither team was able to score.
Â
The tie put the 11th ranked Lions at 6-0-3 and 2-0-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Ospreys have tied all three of their league games and are 7-1-3 overall.
Â
TCNJ had two good chances in the second half with both of them coming off of the foot of sophomore
Jessica Goldman (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery). The first of those came with 21 minutes left in regulation the other minutes later. Stockton keeper
Nicole Pallante (Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) answered both of those scoring bids with saves.
Â
The Lions almost won the game in dramatic fashion as sophomore
Elizabeth Thoresen (Colts Neck, NJ/Red Bank Catholic) shot in the waning seconds of the second overtime rolled just wide of the near post.
Â
Senior keeper
Jessica Weeder (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) posted her seventh shutout of the season with a pair of saves.
Â
Pallante finished with eight saves for Stockton.
Â
TCNJ continues conference play this weekend when they travel to 23
rd-ranked Montclair State University for a 6 p.m. start. Up next for the Ospreys is a home game versus William Paterson University that same day at 3 p.m.
