Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

TCNJ falls at Ramapo 88-78

Mahwah, NJ ... The College of New Jersey men's basketball team dropped an 88-78 decision to Ramapo College in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night.

The Lions (7-5, 3-3 NJAC) saw their modest three-game winning streak come to a close as the Roadrunners improved to 8-5 overall and 4-2 in league play.

Sophomore Eric Murdock, Jr. (Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater) put forth another strong performance for TCNJ, registering a double-double with a game-high 22 points and 10 rebounds. He also had four assists and a steal. Junior Nick Alaimo (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) produced a solid night with a career-high 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting, Two more players reached double digits in the game as freshman Jordan Glover (Lawrence, NJ/Lawrence) finished with 11 points and sophomore Steven Kelly (Newton, NJ/Newton) added 10 points and four boards.

An Alaimo jumper midway through the first period gave the Lions an 18-17 lead. But the Roadrunners shifted gears and went on a 16-2 run to take command of the game. TCNJ erupted in response. Alaimo hit back-to-back buckets and Murdock, Jr. connected from downtown to spark a 19-6 run that evened the score at 36 at the half.

The Lions nipped at the heels of the Roadrunners throughout the second half. Midway through the period, Alaimo drained a three to cut the deficit to 61-59. But it was difficult to keep pace with the Ramapo, which leads the NJAC in scoring offense. Four players reached double figures for the Roadunners, including Christopher Mosely who finished with a team-high 22 points.

The Lions will dress for practice the next two days before returning to NJAC play at New Jersey City University at 4 p.m.
