Ewing, NJ … The College of New Jersey field hockey team rattled off its seventh straight victory and remained unbeaten in New Jersey Athletic Conference action as they turned back Stockton University, 6-1 on Tuesday night in Lions Stadium.

The Lions improved their overall record to 11-3 and 5-0 in conference play. The victory sets up a showdown at Kean University this Saturday at 1 p.m. The Cougars are 14-0 overall and 4-0 in the NJAC. They square off against Montclair State University tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. The winner of the TCNJ/Kean contest will claim first place in the regular season and draw the top seed in the 2016 NJAC Championship tournament.

Junior
Elizabeth Morrison (Stonington, CT/Stonington) scored three goals and was credited with an assist to lead the offense. Morrison now has five goals in her last two games. Senior
Jaclyn Douglas (Malvern, Pa/Great Valley) also assisted and recorded her 14
th and 15
th goals of the season. Classmate
Danielle Andreula (New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) found the back of the cage in the first half for her fourth goal of the year.

Christina Fabiano (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) registered three saves to raise her season record to 7-1.

Morrison opened the scoring 8:19 into the game when she showcased a burst of speed down the left side. She fired a shot in stride that rattled wood to put the Lions on top, 1-0. Stockton played solid defense and generated a few chances on the offensive end, but Fabiano was stingy in the cage.

With 5:48 remaining in the opening period, Andreula weaved her way through traffic and wristed a shot past the goaltender for her fourth goal of the season.

The Lions opened it up after the intermission. Douglas swiped in a shot from the right side into the left corner to make it 3-0. Douglas then inserted a corner to
Taylor Barrett (Neshanic Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central), who fired the ball towards the net and Morrison deflected the ball past
Emily Sorochynskyj for his second tally.

A perfect ground pass by Morrison to the stick of Douglas in front set up the fifth goal and Morrison deflected in her third tally with assists going to senior
Lexi Smith (Florence, NJ/Florence Twp) and sophomore
Jordan Paton (Upper Saddle River, NJ/Northern Highlands).

Stockton forward Emily McNeill spoiled the shutout, tucking away her third goal of the season with just 10 seconds remaining in the game.
Sorochynskyj had an outstanding night in goal, registering 16 saves.

The Lions will head to Union, NJ on Saturday to take on Kean at 1 p.m.
