Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey women's lacrosse team rolled past St. Joseph's – Long Island College, 16-1, in the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship tournament on Saturday, May 15 in Lion's Stadium.
No. 2 ranked TCNJ (17-1) eliminated the Golden Eagles (14-5), advancing to the regional semi-final round of the tournament next weekend against the winner of Concordia University – Wisconsin and Augustana College's matchup this afternoon. The tournament site will be determined later this evening.
The Lion's offense was led by the dominating duo of senior
Megan Devlin (Marmora, NJ/Ocean City) and graduate student
Erin Waller (Washington Twp., NJ/Washington Twp.) who contributed a combined total of nine points in the triumph.
Devlin set up the college for success early on, scoring a free position shot just 2:50 into the first to grab a 1-0 lead. Just over a minute later, Waller sniped one in to the top left pocket of the St. Joe's net.
The Lions continued to dominate the half as Devlin notched four goals, freshman midfielder
Kathleen Jaeger (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) knocked in two and assisted one of sophomore
Amanda Muller's two goals. Waller also added two tallies and sophomore attacker
Emily Kratz (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) grabbed one and an assist to leave the Lion's with a comfortable 11-0 lead at the half.
The Golden Eagles struck first in the second half though, as Meaghan Haber capitalized on a TCNJ turnover to notch a goal at 1:25. However the Lion's defense stood tall from there, prohibiting any other goals against.
The second half highlighted a goal each from Waller, Jaeger and freshman
Erin Harvey (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape). Muller also contributed two assists and Devlin added two more goals – finishing the contest with a total of six points and four groundballs for the Lions.

Miranda Chrone (Moorestown, NJ/Moorestown) made two saves in the victory and the Golden Eagles' goalie Lindsay Ramos made an impressive 13 saves on 35 shots.
