Ewing, N.J. … The College of New Jersey women's soccer team welcomed Rutgers University-Camden tonight in Lions Stadium and came away with a 5-0 victory. Their overall record now stands at 7-0-1, and 3-0-0 in the NJAC.

The 19
th ranked Lions took a 1-0 lead within the first eight minutes of play with a goal from junior
Elizabeth Thoresen (Colts Neck, NJ/Red Bank Catholic).
Christine Levering (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) crossed the ball around the diving goalie and Thoresen one timed it into the open net.

Freshman
Joriam Rivera (Brick, NJ/Brick Memorial) made the score 2-0 in favor of TCNJ on a rebound off the goalie to earn her second goal of the season.

The Lions' third goal started with a cross from
Alexa Beatty (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) to
Arielle Curtis (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough), who had a phenomenal header right into the center of the net.

TCNJ opened scoring in the second half with just under 18 minutes remaining.
Despina Lianidis (Linwood, NJ/Mainland Regional) dribbled the ball in, dodged the goalie who came out of the net, and shot into the empty net.

Lianidis tallied her second goal of the game with just over three minutes remaining in regulation. She collected a rebound off the hands of the goalie and took a shot from the center of the box.

Jessica Weeder (Lebanon, NJ/North Hunterdon) got the start in net for the Lions and made one save during the contest.Â

TCNJ is back on the pitch on Saturday, October 1 when they travel to Rutgers-Newark University for a 7:30 p.m. matchup.
