TCNJ falls in shootout against Ramapo

Mahwah, NJ…Despite shooting 61.1% (33-54) and 60.7% (17-28), The College of New Jersey men's basketball team (8-5, 5-2 NJAC) fell to #19 Ramapo College (13-0, 7-0 NJAC) 98-90 Saturday afternoon.

The Roadrunners were quick out of the gate, hitting their first two shots to jump out to an early 5-0 lead. The Lions countered quickly scoring 14 of the next 16 points, courtesy of hot shooting from behind the arc as Eric Klacik (Basking Ridge, NJ / Ridge) and Jordan Glover (Lawrenceville, NJ / Lawrence) each knocked down a pair from long range. Klacik led all Lions with 18 points, and Glover finished with 14 points.

With the Lions holding a 29-23 advantage, the Roadrunners used an 11-0 run, to grasp control of the game, and RCNJ went into the half with a 41-35 lead.

The game remained close early in the second half, but after a Kevin Bloodgood (Oceanport, NJ / Shore Regional) three-pointer cut the Roadrunners lead to 62-56, RCNJ used a 9-0 to push the lead to 15 and TCNJ trailed by double digits until the final minute of play.

Ramapo was led offensively by Christopher Moseley and Nick Stanek, who each finished with a game-high 19 points.

Corey Stanford (Pittsburgh, PA / Penn Trafford) finished with a double-double recording 17 points to go along with 10 boards. Bobby Brackett (Lawrenceville, NJ / Lawrence) and Eric Murdock, Jr. (Bridgewater, NJ / Bridgewater) each with 12 points.

The Roadrunners shot 62.5% (40-64) from the field. RCNJ gathered several extra possessions thanks to a 30-24 advantage on the glass.

The Lions return home Monday, January 9 when they take on FDU-Florham from Packer Hall. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 pm.
