Collegeville, PA… The College of New Jersey lacrosse team (4-0) had no rust after not playing for almost two weeks due to having three straight games cancelled due to inclement weather. The Lions, who recently moved up one spot to number three in the national rankings, defeated Ursinus College (3-4) 15-3 Tuesday night.
TCNJ jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the game's first six minutes, getting goals off the sticks of freshman
Allie Gorman (Sicklerville,NJ / Washington Twp.), junior
Amanda Muller (Hillsborough, NJ / Hillsborough), and sophomore
Kathleen Jaeger (Whitehouse Station, NJ / Hunterdon Central). Muller would score twice more and Jaeger would add both a goal and an assist helping the Lions to a 7-1 halftime advantage.
Senior
Mia Blackman (Arlington, VA / Field School) got in on the scoring early in the second half scoring three times bookending the fourth goal of the game for Muller to stretch the lead to 11-1 just under four minutes into the second half. Muller tied a career-high with five goals. TCNJ extended the advantage to 12 on three different occasions, but twice the Bears responded with a goal of their own. The third occasion was Jaeger's fourth goal of the game and 16th of the season, which produced the final score.
Sophomore
