MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The College of New Jersey field hockey team saw its season come to end Sunday afternoon in the regional final, falling 5-1 to Middlebury College. The seventh-ranked Lions end the season at 16-5, while the second-ranked Panthers improved to 19-1.

The Panthers jumped out in front early, with Emma Johns, Erin Nicholas, and Grace Jennings scoring within the game's first 10 minutes.

TCNJ got its best opportunity of the opening half on a corner in the final minute, but
Tori Hannah's shot rang off the post.

In the second half, Middlebury would put the game away with another pair of goals.
Sidney Padilla would provide the final score getting the Lions on the board capitalizing on a scrambling defense recovering after a Lions corner.

Maddie Beaumont made eight saves for the Lions and
Jackie Schwartz added a defensive save.

Middlebury out-shot TCNJ 20-5 in the game.
