ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Jordan Glover scored 13 of his team-high 21 points in the second half, leading The College of New Jersey men's basketball team to a 85-79 come-from-behind victory over Cazenovia College Friday night in the opening round of the BSG Tip-off Tournament hosted by Nazareth College. The Lions and Wildcats both evened their season records at 1-1.

After the Lions quickly gathered a 10-6 lead, Cazenovia took early control of the contest with a 13-0 run getting points from four different players during the rally. The Wildcats would extend the lead as high as 13 on a bucket by Jaceary Menes making the score 28-15. Menes finished with 14 points and a team-high seven rebounds.

The Lions got back into the game using the long ball.
Travis Jocelyn,
Mike Walley, and Glover each hit threes to narrow the advantage to just six. Then, following a Cazenovia triple,
Randall Walko sparked an 11-0 run with a three-pointer that included an old fashioned three-point play by Walko and was capped by another three from Walley that gave the Lions the lead with 4:56 remaining in the opening half. Walko scored 16 points to go along with a game-high nine boards.

The Wildcats would recover and retain a 45-43 lead at the break.

Cazenovia came out hot again in the second half, extending the lead as high as eight points midway through the frame. But with the Wildcats holding a 64-57 lead, TCNJ went on a 13-2 run capped by a Glover three-pointer. Glover ended the game with six rebounds.

With the score again tied at 70, TCNJ got a fifth triple from Glover that would give the Lions the lead for good. A pair of free throws by
Niall Carpenter would push the lead to eight, the largest margin for TCNJ. Carpenter scored 18 points as well as dishing out seven assists.

Will Cutler led all scorers with 22 in the defeat.

The key for TCNJ was the long ball, shooting 14-31 (45.2%) from behind the arc.

The Lions will now face host Nazareth in the championship game Saturday at 3 p.m.
