Game Recap: Lacrosse |

Pfluger Records 500th Win in Shutout Victory

Ewing, NJ… The College of New Jersey lacrosse team added another milestone to the historic career of head coach Sharon Pfluger. With a 16-0 victory over The College at Brockport, Pfluger became the first collegiate coach to reach 500 career women's lacrosse victories. This season the sixth-ranked Lions are now 6-1 and the Golden Eagles are 0-4.

TCNJ was in control from the start, scoring 10 goals in the opening half as the Lions came out with an unmatched intensity. Kasey Donoghue (Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) and Erin Jaffe (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) were each locked in from the beginning, as both scored a hat trick in the opening frame and Olivia Cleale (Yardley, PA/Notre Dame (NJ)) showed why she is the Lions leading scorer scoring twice and dishing out a pair of helpers.

Cleale maintained control of the game in the second half, assisting on five of the six Lion goals. Donoghue recorded another trio of goals and Allie Gorman (Sicklerville, NJ/Washington Twp.) added a pair of scores as the result of the game was never in doubt.

In net, Miranda Chrone (Moorestown, NJ/Moorsetown) and Alexa Natalicchio (New Egypt, NJ/Notre Dame) combined for the shut out. Each recorded a pair of saves.

Amanda Muller (Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) and Elizabeth Morrison (Stonington, CT/Stonington) each caused a game-high four turnovers. Morrison and Jaffe nabbed a team-high three draw controls and Morrison led the Lions with four ground balls.

The Lions will now turn their focus to second ranked Middlebury College, who comes to Lions Stadium Tuesday night at 7:00 PM.
