UNION, N.J. – The No. 4/7 TCNJ women's soccer team defeated Kean University on Saturday by a final score of 4-0. With the win, the Lions improved to 11-1 including 5-0 in the NJAC, while Kean dropped to 5-7-1 including 1-3-1 in the conference.
TCNJ scored first just six minutes into the game when
Julianna Bertolino found the back of the net. Bertolino was assisted by
Faith Eichenour on the goal, and it was Bertolino's third score of the season.
That 1-0 score held throughout the first half. TCNJ had a 10-0 shot edge in the opening period.
The Lions scored quickly in the second half.
Taylor Nolan put the Lions ahead 2-0 with her third goal on the season in the 52
nd minute.

st minute,
Lindsay O'Keefe put TCNJ up 3-0 off of an assist from
Nina Carlson. The goal was the fifth of the season for O'Keefe. Just about five minutes later,
Ally DeRiggi scored from an
Ally Weaver assist to extend the lead to 4-0. The score was the second of the year for DeRiggi.
The TCNJ defense dominated the Kean offense, and did not surrender any shots. That resulted in a 29-0 shot advantage for the Lions.
TCNJ is back in action on Oct. 16, when the Lions will face Stockton University at home.
