EWING, N.J. – The No. 3/5 TCNJ women's soccer team defeated New Jersey City University on Saturday by a final score of 13-0. The Lions improved to 12-1 including an unblemished 6-0 in NJAC action, while the Gothic Knights dipped to 7-7-1 and 0-5-1 in the conference.

TCNJ got on the board first in the 12th minute with a Julianna Bertolino goal. She was assisted by Gianna Coppola. The Lions scored two goals in a span of 30 seconds in the 39th minute. Caroline Rubin net the first one, and Ava Garay found the back of the net half a minute later off a Nikki Butler assist to extend the lead to 3-0.

The Lions came out of the gate strong in the second half, and put up a flurry of goals. Nora Burdge net the first off of an assist from Amelia Curtis in the 45th minute. In the 47th, Coppola scored off of assists from Taylor Nolan and Alexandra Ryan. Bertolino hit her second of the day in the 51st minute, then Ally DeRiggi scored to extend the advantage to 7-0.

The barrage of goals continued as the Lions dominated. Gabriella Barquin scored a pair, while Nina Carlson, Julia Obst, Jessica O'Brien, and Emily Blankenship each scored one. Ally Weaver, Gianna Minerva, and Alexa Pestritto all recorded assists in the second half.

The Lions out-shot the Gothic Knights 44-1 on the game. Nicole DiPasquale, Alexandra Panasuk, and Caitlyn Finnerty combined for the shutout in net.

The 13 goals scored tied TCNJ's program record. TCNJ also put up a baker's dozen against Kean on 10/23/2002, and Rutgers-Newark on 9/27/2003.

TCNJ returns to action on Oct. 23, for a make-up game against Stockton University.
