No. 20 Swimming and Diving Dominates Southern Connecticut State

The College of New Jersey men's swimming and diving team remained undefeated this season, topping Division II Southern Connecticut State University 200-93. The 20th-ranked Lions improved to 4-0 on the season, while the Owls fell to 1-3. The win is the 13th straight in the series against the Division II school.
 
The Lions jumped out to an early lead in the 200-Medley Relay. The team of Derek Kneisel, Andrew Duff, Andrew Thompson, and Griffin Morgan touched the wall in 1:35.34 followed closely by the team of Sean Rave, Patrick Sullivan, Alec Balasny, and Nolan Kuscan, who posted a time of 1:37.31.
 
Morgan followed that performance by destroying the field in the 1,650-Free. Morgan posted a time of 16:18.60 to win the event by nearly 13 seconds.
 
Harrison Yi, David Madigan, Kai Michaud, and Dixon Kahler posted the top four times in the 200-Free. The quartet stopped the clock a 1:45.90, 1:47.40, 1:48.58, and 1:49.50 respectively. The Lions continued to pour on the points with Kneisel and Rave going one-two in the 100-Back in 53.08 and 53.55.
 
Duff, Sullivan, and Eli O'Connor earned the top three spots in the 100-Breast. Duff was the lone man to go sub one-minute stopping the clock at 59.52.
 
Morgan, Jimmy Keane, Bryan Tran and Joshua Oh swept the 200-Fly. Morgan topped the field by over five full seconds at 1:54.54.
 
Thompson, Kuscan, and Balasny ensured the Lions would sweep the opening portion of the meet with a one-two-three finish in the 50-Free. Thompson's time of 21.90 won the event.
 
After SCSU broke through in the 1-Meter, the Lions continued to dominate in the pool. Yi won the 100-Free in 47.35 with Kuscan following close behind in 48.80. Kneisel and Rave went one-two in the 200-Back with times of 1:57.06 and 2:01.77.
 
Yi won his third individual event of the day with a winning time of 4:50.05 in the 500-Free. Thompson claimed another win immediately after in the 100-Fly, going 51.67.
 
The Owls completed a sweep of the diving events before Morgan won the 400-IM in 4:13.17. The Lions completed the day by winning the 400-Free Relay. Thompson, Matt Watts, Kuscan, and Yi went 3:11.75 for the victory.
 
The Lions return to action tomorrow when they travel to the USMMA Invite at 11 a.m.
