EWING, N.J. – The College of New Jersey men's tennis team won its dual season opener Saturday afternoon. The Lions (1-0) defeated Division II University of the Sciences (2-3) 7-2.

In doubles play, TCNJ jumped out to 2-1 lead behind victories from the teams of
Matthew Michibata and
Tim Gavornik as well as
Matt Puig and
Justin Wain. Both pairs won by identical 8-1 scores.

The Lions carried the momentum into singles play.
Mitchel Sanders won at first singles in straight sets in his return from a semester abroad. Wain, Puig, Gavornik, and Thomas each took straight set victories as well.

TCNJ hits the road for a tough test at 19
th-ranked Swarthmore on Sunday, Feb. 24. The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
