GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Despite out-shooting their opponent 33-31 on the game, The College of New Jersey lacrosse team could not overcome the number one team in the country Thursday afternoon, falling to Gettysburg College 16-5. The 14
th-ranked Lions are now 4-4 on the season, while the Bullets remain unbeaten at 8-0.
 
Gettysburg opened the game with a three goal rally, sparked by a pair of goals from Steph Colson. The Lions would quickly respond as 
Olivia Cleale found 
Talia Bouzakis for her sixth goal of the season. Back-to-back goals by Lions leading scorer 
Alexandria Fitzpatrick would knot the game at 3-3.
 
The Bullets would respond in a major way, scoring four straight to close out the opening half.
 
Gettysburg continued the run in the second frame, scoring six consecutive goals to extend the lead to 10. TCNJ would break the rally on a goal by 
Erin Harvey, her ninth of the season.
 
Fitzpatrick would complete her hat trick to close out the Lions scoring.
 
The Lions now get a long break before opening conference play at home on Apr. 6 against Montclair State. First draw is set for 1 p.m.
