MEDFORD, Mass. – The College of New Jersey lacrosse team saw an unfortunate end to its 2019 season Saturday afternoon, falling 17-13 to Tufts University in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. The 15
th-ranked Lions close out the season at 14-6, while the fourth-ranked Jumbos advance to the regional final with an 18-2 record.

The Lions started strong as
Kathleen Jaeger opened the scoring, then assisted on a goal from
Alexandria Fitzpatrick that put TCNJ up 2-1. The goal by Fitzpatrick extended her goals scored streak to 22 consecutive games.

Tuft's offense was relentless sandwiching a pair of three-goal runs around goals by Fitzpatrick and
Erin Harvey. Harvey ends her senior season with career-highs in goals (29), assists (8), caused turnovers (22), and draw controls (78). She closes out her career with 74 goals and 19 assists.

A Fitzpatrick goal with 10:29 to go in the first half cut the deficit to 8-6. The Jumbos would score four straight from that point to end the first up 12-6.

After Tufts scored to open the second half, TCNJ began the comeback effort.
Olivia Cleale scored back-to-back goals, cutting the lead to five. Tufts would score an answer, but the Lions would respond. Jaeger recorded back-to-back tallies and
Kasey Donoghue scored on a feed off a free-position by Cleale. The Donoghue goal, made the score 14-11, but the Lions would get no closer. The teams would exchange goals for the remaining time to produce the final score.

In her final game, Jaeger scored three goals and added a pair of assists. The senior graduates with the 14
th most goals (169) and 17
th most points (212) in program history.

Miranda Chrone made 13 saves in net for the Lions. One of the greatest goalies ever to play for the Lions, Chrone set a career-high this season with 146 saves. She graduates with the NCAA Division III record for career goals against average (4.83) and minutes played (4712:30). She also holds the program records for single-season wins (20) and career wins (73).

The Lions final senior,
Abby Flagler, set a single-game career-high with five draw controls. Flagler also led the Lions with a pair of caused turnovers in the game. She set her single-season career-high with 22 on the year. She graduates with 108 career ground balls, 61 caused turnovers, and 41 draw controls.

During the season, TCNJ won its ninth straight NJAC championship and extended the nation's longest active conference winning streak to 66.
