NFCA Release

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its honorees for NCAA Division III Softball Regional Coaching Staffs of the Year. The College of New Jersey's coaching staff earned East Region Coaching Staff of the Year honors.

TCNJ achieved a 33-8 record in 2019. Head coach Sally Miller was assisted by Val Suto and Gina Massaro. The Lions' coaching staff led TCNJ to a terrific campaign. They were winners of 31 out of 33 games in a stretch dating from March 22 through May 4. 

The Lions also won the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championship in the regular season as well as the postseason. The postseason conference title marked the first for the program since 2000. The Lions also made their second straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, and the third in the last four seasons.

Jess McGuire and Lauren Conroy were named NFCA Second Team All-America last month. Gaby Bennett, Alanna Namit, and Eliza Sweet joined McGuire and Conroy in earning NFCA All-East Region honors.

Coach Miller was also named NJAC Coach of the Year this season. She achieved her 600^th career win this past March, and has compiled a 631-321-3 record in 24 seasons at the helm of the program at TCNJ.
