CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams

EWING, N.J. – On Thursday afternoon, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced its Academic All-District teams for softball. Alanna Namit and Lauren Conroy of the TCNJ softball team both were named to the Academic All-District honors.

CoSIDA accepts nominations of student-athletes who own a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.3 while also being significant athletic contributors.

Namit was named to her second consecutive CoSIDA Academic All-District honor. The junior pitcher owns a 3.76 GPA and is a political science major. Namit has been a dominant force in the circle for TCNJ the last three seasons. She has pitched to a 34-6 record with a 1.23 ERA. In 257 innings of work, Namit has tallied 296 strikeouts and limited opponents to a miniscule .155 batting average. She has thrown six career no-hitters. In 2019 and 2018, she earned NFCA First Team All-East Region honors. Namit was named the NJAC Pitcher of the Year as well as First Team All-NJAC in both 2018 and 2019.

Conroy earned her first career CoSIDA Academic All-District honor. The junior third baseman has tallied a 3.41 GPA and is a health & exercise science major. Conroy has put forth a terrific three seasons for the Lions. A force at the plate, Conroy owns a career batting average of .416. She has tallied an on base percentage of .451 and a slugging percentage of .634. Conroy has totaled eight home runs, 101 RBIs, 60 runs scored, and 25 doubles. In 2019, she earned NFCA Second Team All-America and First Team All-East Region honors. She was also a First Team All-East Region honoree in 2018. Conroy earned First Team All-NJAC honors in 2018 as well as 2019, and was the NJAC Rookie of the Year in 2018.

With the selections to the Academic All-District Team, Namit and Conroy are now eligible for voting as an Academic All-American. The results of that ballot will be announced in June.
