JERSEY CITY, N.J. – TCNJ men's soccer goalkeeper
Julian Franco shut out New Jersey City in the Lions' 1-0 victory on Saturday afternoon, and he also assisted on the lone goal of the game.
That goal didn't come until the second half, when
Justin Dominique scored in the 54
th minute to break the stalemate.
The Lions were scoreless in the first half despite outshooting the Gothic Knights, 12-2, in the period. TCNJ held a 24-10 advantage in shots for the game, including a 13-3 advantage in shots on goal. Dominique had seven shots, four on goal, to lead the team.
New Jersey City goalkeeper Nick Linebaugh kept NJCU in the game by making 12 saves on the afternoon, including six in each half.
Dominque has now scored in back-to-back game and in three of the Lions' last five games. Franco earned his second shutout of the season.
Jake Gershon had five shots off the TCNJ bench, and
Alex Quezada had three.
The Lions return to action at home against Rutgers-Camden on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
