EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ men's tennis team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 7-2 win over Division I Coppin State on Tuesday afternoon. The loss drops the Eagles to 1-4. The win is the fifth in a row over out of Division competition for the Lions.

The Lions took a lead in doubles play with wins by the teams of
Matthew Michibata and
Justin Wain as well as
Akul Telluri and
Adrian Tsui. Michibata and Wain won 8-6 at number one, and Telluri and Tsui paired for an 8-0 win at number two.

In singles play, Wain was dominant at number one winning 6-1, 6-2. Telluri won 6-2, 6-3 at number four.
Derek Jordan secured the match for the Lions with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number five.
Rahul Panoli won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3, on court six. Tsui fell behind a set at number three before fighting back for a 4-6, 7-5, 10-6 superbreaker victory.

The Lions return to the courts when they host SUNY Oneonta on Friday at noon.
