WEST WINDSOR, N.J. – The TCNJ women's tennis team welcomed New Jersey City University to the NJAC on Saturday the same way the team has welcomed any other NJAC team since conference play began in 1982, with a victory. The Lions improved to 4-0 overall this season, including 2-0 in the NJAC with the 9-0 win that puts TCNJ's all-time conference record at 190-0. The Gothic Knights are now 1-2 in their first season since the late 70s with all matches coming against conference competition.
The Lions pulled ahead 3-0 in doubles play behind a pair of 8-0 victories.
Liya Davidov and
Katrine Luddy were victorious at number one and
Charlotte Roarty and
Jenny Landells won on court two.
Roarty won at first singles 7-5, 6-2. Davidov, Luddy,
Chase Eisenberg, and
Anusha Rangu all won 6-0, 6-0 at numbers two through five respectively. The Gothic Knights did not contest third doubles or sixth singles.
TCNJ returns to the courts on Wednesday when they host Stockton at 3 p.m.
