NJAC ROOKIES OF THE WEEK
The TCNJ baseball team opened NJAC play on Saturday with a doubleheader split at Rutgers-Newark, and the Lions had a pair of performances earn NJAC weekly awards. Freshman catcher Ryan Goodall was named NJAC Rookie of the Week, and sophomore pitcher Ben Amon earned NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.

Players who were freshmen in the shortened 2020 season are eligible for NJAC rookie awards in 2021.

Goodall started just one of the Lions' two games against Rutgers-Newark on Saturday, but he made quite an impact. He went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored. He came just a home run shy of the cycle. His four RBIs came on a two-run double in the fourth and a two-run triple in the eighth.

Amon earned his first win of the season with a strong outing at Rutgers-Newark. He pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits while not allowing a walk. He struck out 11 hitters and allowed just two runs.

OFFENSIVE FIREWORKS
TCNJ's 18 runs on 20 hits in Saturday's 18-2 victory at Rutgers-Newark marked the Lions' biggest offensive output in a couple of years.

The Lions scored the most runs in a game for the team since scoring 19 at William Paterson in April 2019, and TCNJ's 20 hits were the program's highest total since having 21 in a win over Wisconsin-La Crosse in March 2019.

BACK AGAIN
TCNJ hosts Ramapo on Saturday just two weeks after hosting the Roadrunners in a non-conference doubleheader at George Ackerman Park. The teams split that doubleheader, but this week's version will count in the NJAC standings.
