MONTCLAIR, N.J. – Behind a career-high six goals from both
Anna Devlin and
Jillian Westerby, the TCNJ lacrosse team defeated Montclair State 16-6 to claim its seventh-straight NJAC Tournament Championship and tenth-straight NJAC Championship. The 15
th-ranked Lions earn the conference's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division III Tournament and will enter with a 7-2 record. The 23
rd-ranked Red Hawks will seek an elusive at-large bid after falling for the first time today and moving to 8-1 on the year.

The game was a stark contrast to the first meeting between the two teams, a hard-fought 10-9 Montclair State victory.

The Lions opened the game on fire, scoring the game's first seven goals.
Anna Devlin scored three times, Westerby scored twice, and
Erin Jaffe and
Anna Wright each recorded a tally to build the lead. Devlin would add another pair of first-half goals as TCNJ went into the break up 9-3.

Westerby, the NJAC Rookie of the Year, took over in the second half, scoring four times as TCNJ built a 16-4 advantage, before the Red Hawks scored twice in the final moments to produce the final score.

Possession has been the key for TCNJ all season, and today was no different.
Sabrina Phillips had a game-high six draw controls, helping the Lions secure 15 of the 23 total draws. Westerby secured a career-high five ground balls to lead all players. Westerby,
Wayden Ay, and
Nikki Phillips each had three caused turnovers.

Ali Natalicchio made four saves to earn the win.
