EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ men's tennis team advanced to the first-ever NJAC Championship Match, defeating Ramapo 5-0 in the NJAC Semifinals on Friday. The Lions improved to 6-1 with the victory, while the Roadrunners fell to 1-3.

The Lions got off to a quick start in doubles play, winning all three matches.
Justin Wain and
Matthew Michibata as well as
Adrian Tsui and
Akul Telluri won without dropping a single game at numbers one and two respectively.
Derek Jordan and
Rahul Panoli claimed an 8-2 win at third doubles.

In singles play, it was a race to be one of the first two Lions to complete the individual match and clinch the team win. All six Lions won their opening set and were winning in the second. Michibata and Panoli were the lucky finishers for TCNJ. Michibata won 6-0, 6-0 at second singles and Panoli won 6-1, 6-0 at number five.

The Lions will get a chance to avenge their lone loss in a highly-anticipated NJAC Championship match. The Gothic Knights topped TCNJ, 5-4, in the regular season. The match featured a pair of three-set singles matches and another with a first-set tiebreaker, all won by NJCU. The Lions will travel to Jersey City with revenge and a championship in their sights on Sunday with the match scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
