NFCA Release

Louisville, Ky. – TCNJ softball's coaching staff has been named NFCA East Region Coaching Staff of the Year. The NFCA Regional Coaching Staffs of the Year are elected by the Division III member head coaches in each respective region.

TCNJ head coach Sally Miller, along with assistant coaches Gina Massaro and Jen Richard, led TCNJ to a spectacular 2021 campaign. The Lions posted a 26-5 record and won the NJAC Championship. TCNJ additionally made its third-straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. The Lions advanced to the regional championship game where they fell in a tight 6-5 battle to eventual national champion Virginia Wesleyan.

The Lions finished the season ranked fourth in the NFCA Division III rankings. TCNJ's longest winning streak was a 13-gamer that lasted from April 24 until the NCAA Tournament on May 22.

The conference title marked the second in a row and 12^th in program history for TCNJ. The tournament appearance also was the Lions' fourth in the last five tourneys.

This marks the second-consecutive NFCA East Region Coaching Staff of the Year Honor for TCNJ, as the Lions' coaching staff earned the same recognition in 2019. Coach Miller now owns a 661-330-3 career record in 26 years at the helm of the program.
