EWING, N.J.- The TCNJ men's soccer team fell behind quickly on Wednesday night and were not able to catch up, losing to Rowan by a score of 5-0.
Â
The Profs came out of the gate firing, scoring two goals in the first five minutes and change.
Â
The Lions had an opportunity to cut the lead in half at the half hour mark when
JohnAnthony Gallina sent a beautiful pass up-field to
Justin Dominique. This pass drew the goalkeeper out of the net and charging at Dominique. The goalkeeper was not fooled by Dominique's moves as he slid in for the tackle.
Â
Just ten minutes later, it was Dominique causing havoc up front once again this time on a through ball from Carraha down the left side. The 6'4" senior looked like had an angle to shoot, but the opportunity was tarnished by another sliding Rowan defender.
Â
TCNJ went into the half down 2-0. No less than 5 minutes into the second, Dominique found himself knocking on the door again with a header off that ricocheted off the post coming from a
Colin Kenville corner kick.
Â
Following the header off the post, Rowan held the Lions scoreless for the last 40 minutes while tacking on two more goals of their own to secure the 5-0 victory.
Â
Walker Smith had a career high in saves on Wednesday with eight on the evening.
Â
TCNJ men's soccer is back in action on Saturday as they celebrate Senior Day against NJCU kicking off at 6:00 PM.
