YORK, PA.- The TCNJ wrestling team had seven Lions place on the final day of the New Standard Invitational. TCNJ put up a total team score of 145., earning themselves second place out of 14 teams. Finishing in front of the Lions was Johnson & Wales (165) and just behind TCNJ was Ithaca (144.5) and Averett (124).

Domenic Difrancescantonio (141) and
Reid Colella headlined the TCNJ roster this weekend, both finishing as the runner-up of their respective weight classes.
Peter Wersinger (285) came in third place while
Kyle Nase (133) finished in fourth in his first bouts of the season. Fifth place finishers for TCNJ include
Ryan Rosenthal (125),
Mike Conklin (149), and
Nick Sacco (165).

Difrancescantonio punched his ticket to the championship bout with a third-round pin against Victor Perlleshi of Johnson & Wales. He unfortunately fell in the championship match to Gabe Leo of Johnson & Wales by a score of 6-4.

Colella won his semifinal match 3-0 over Konrad Parker of Ithaca and then was narrowly edged out by Colby Morris of Waynesburg in the championship bout, losing 6-3.

Wersinger had a massive Saturday to come back and finish in third from his quarterfinal loss to Adolfo Betancur of JWU. He started the day off with a pin against Marcus Colon of New England College. Then, he rattled off two more decision wins over Nick Galka of Ithaca (5-1) and Reid Garrison of USMMA to reach the third-place matchup. Wersinger capped off his day with a bang, pinning Peter Cortapasso of Apprentice just 47 seconds into the third-place bout.

After falling in the quarterfinals to Isaias Torres of Ithaca, Nase put together three strong wins in a row, pinning Isaiah Wilson of Washington & Lee (5:30), taking down David Rubin of Washington & Lee (4-2), and defeating Kyle Sanders of Averett by tech fall (17-1). In the third-place bout, Nase lost a tight matchup to Matt Caccamise of Brockport by a score of 6-4.

Rosenthal lost a tough semifinal match to Mason Barett of Averett 4-3 which entered him into the consolation bracket. After to falling to John Kuhns of York in the Consolation semi's, he won the fifth-place matchup by forfeit over Christopher Derosa of New England.

Conklin after suffering a loss in the semifinals to Matt Beyer of Ithaca (9-3) lost another highly competitive bout to Matthew Garcia of JWU by a tally of 8-7. Nevertheless, Conklin finished his Saturday on a positive note, defeating Eddie Pinc of USMMA 9-1 to secure fifth at 141 lbs.

Sacco also unfortunately lost in the semifinals to Jackson Gray of Ithaca in an exciting bout with the final score 4-2. Following this, he suffered one more loss to Ursinus' Shawn Marchesano (11-5) before besting teammate
Matt Surich in the fifth-place matchup 5-3.

th at the TCNJ Rec Center starting at 6 PM.
