EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's tennis team cruised to an 8-1 victory over Oneonta on Sunday in its first match against a Division III opponent this spring. The Lions had little trouble with the Red Dragons in improving to 3-1 in dual matches this season.
Charlotte Roarty and
Jenny Landells won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, while
Alexa Vasile and
Chase Eisenberg (No. 2) and
Anusha Rangu and
Aira Abalos (No. 3) rolled to 8-1 victories.
Roarty was a 6-1, 6-2 winner at No. 1 singles, and Abalos cruised to a 6-3, 6-0 result at No. 2.
Vasile double-bageled her number three singles opponent, with Rangu notching a 6-4, 6-3 win at fourth singles.
Morgan Grimmie dominated at No. 5, rolling 6-2, 6-0 for her first singles win of the spring.
Oneonta got on the board at No. 6 singles.
The Lions take on Franklin & Marshall at the Rec Center next Saturday.
