EWING, N.J. – With four scores in seven minutes early in the first period, the No. 10 TCNJ lacrosse team defeated No. 4 Gettysburg, 16-10, in a top-10 matchup that wasn't even that close. The Lions held a 9-0 lead at the half and a 12-3 lead after three quarters.

The Lions got off to an incredibly fast start after a slower start against Middlebury last week. In this one,
Jennifer LaRocca scored on a free position shot just 1:04 into the game, setting the Lions up for four goals in a 7:10 span.
Natalie Berry scored the first of her two goals in the game to make it 2-0 on a feed from
Anna Devlin, and Devlin followed with four minutes later to make it 3-0.
Ally Tobler assisted on that one, and she scored at 6:46 remaining to push the TCNJ advantage to 4-0.

Jillian Westerby rounded out the first-quarter scoring with her 10
th goal of the season with just 18 seconds left. She scored three goals while adding three draw controls and two ground balls.

In the second quarter, the TCNJ onslaught continued. LaRocca and Tobler scored in the first couple minutes of the quarter, and Tobler's came as a man-up opportunity. The Lions scored three times on the afternoon in such chances.

Ahead 7-0, Westerby and
Anna Wright also scored later in the second quarter to send the team into the intermission with a 9-0 advantage over the fourth-ranked Bullets. TCNJ goalie
Julia Charest made four saves in the first half to keep Gettysburg off the board. She finished with seven while earning the victory.

In the third, the teams each scored three times with Wright netting back-to-back goals just 57 seconds apart to give the Lions a 12-3 lead at the end of the period.

Berry scored her second goal of the game with 9:13 remaining to push the game into a running clock as TCNJ led, 14-4. That didn't last long, though, as Gettysburg scored six of the next seven goals to make it a mildly interesting finish. The final goal on that run made it 15-10 TCNJ with 4:31 remaining.

Westerby capped the scoring with her third goal with 1:29 left in regulation. Tobler and Wright paced the offense with four goals apiece.

Wayden Ay had a team-leading four ground balls, and
Sabrina Phillips joined Westerby with a team-high three draw controls.

The win for TCNJ snaps a three-game losing streak to Gettysburg. The Lions now move into NJAC action when they host Montclair State on April 9 at 3:30 p.m.
