EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ men's tennis team continued to roll through its non-conference slate on Wednesday, routing Drew by a 9-0 sweep inside the Rec Center.
None of the six singles players lost more than two games in a set for the Lions (10-1), who made quick work of a Drew side that came in with a 9-2 overall mark.
Nick Matkiwsky and
Nikola Kilibarda easily dispatched Jack Polvere and John Dickey, 8-0, on the No. 2 doubles court.
Derek Jordan and
Akul Telluri produced an 8-4 victory over Leo Ambrogio and Dan Blumenthal, who had been undefeated together this spring, at No. 3 doubles before
Matthew Michibata and
Justin Wain followed shortly with a win against Avi Perera and Bret Schuler by the same score.
Kilibarda cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win against Santo Carroccia at No. 4 singles, and Wain clinched the win for TCNJ with a 6-2, 6-0 defeat of Perera at No. 1. The win was the 75th of Wain's career.
Michibata handled Blumenthal 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles, and
Adrian Tsui picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win opposite Schuler at No. 3.
Jordan downed Dickey by a 6-0, 6-2 count in the No. 6 flight before Matkiwsky, the reigning NJAC East Division Player of the Week, secured the sweep with a 6-2, 6-2 decision against Ambrogio at No. 5.
