EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ softball team is going dancing.
Despite a heartbreaking loss to Rowan in the NJAC championship game on Sunday, the Lions were selected to receive an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament and will head to Cleveland to share a regional pod with three nationally ranked programs on the campus of Case Western Reserve. Roanoke and Concordia-Wisconsin are the other two teams in the region, which will feature a double-elimination round-robin format.
Making its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, the Lions will take on host Case Western in the opening game at 2 p.m. on Friday.
The Spartans are 26-9 overall and champions of the University Athletic Association, sitting at No. 25 in the NFCA rankings. No. 15 Roanoke (30-12) earned an at-large bid after falling to Virginia Wesleyan in the ODAC championship series, while No. 20 Concordia-Wisconsin (34-4) captured the NACC Tournament title.
