TCNJ lacrosse head coach Sharon Pfluger was named Boardwalk Region Coach of the Year by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).

The announcement marks the 13^th regional coach of the year honor for Pfluger, who piloted the Lions to another NJAC title and a trip to the NCAA semifinals this spring alongside assistants Robin Selbst, Jackie Scullin, Bob Henderson, and Jaclyn Douglas. TCNJ finished 18-3 overall and was a perfect 6-0 in conference competition before posting 18-3 victories over Kean and Rowan in the NJAC Tournament. The Lions went on to upset defending national champion Salisbury in the NCAA quarterfinals to book their spot in the semifinals, where they were defeated by Tufts.

The winningest coach in lacrosse history, Pfluger owns a career mark of 559-70-1 and is 71-2 in league play since the NJAC introduced women's lacrosse in 2009. TCNJ has reeled off 11 consecutive conference crowns.

Inducted into the 50^th class of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2007, Pfluger is a two-time national coach of the year.
