HOBOKEN, N.J. – The No. 2 TCNJ women's soccer team concluded the Engineering Cup at Stevens with a big 4-1 victory over Redlands on Sunday afternoon.
Victoria D'Imperio scored twice, and
Gianna Coppola had a goal and three assists.
It was the Lions' leading scorer who got things going as
Lindsay O'Keefe scored the lone goal of the first half when she scored on a cross from Coppola in the 16
th minute. That staked TCNJ to an early 1-0 lead.
TCNJ dominated the first half despite only leading, 1-0, with an 11-1 advantage in shots. TCNJ won the shots advantage,21-6, for the game while holding a 13-3 lead in shots on goal.
The Lions blew the game open in the second half, scoring three times in a 17-minute span. D'Imperio scored in the 51
st minute with an assist from Coppola, and Coppola scored her goal in the 61
st minute.
TCNJ made it 4-0 when D'Imperio scored inside the six-yard box on the third of Coppola's assists.
Redlands added a goal in the 84
th minute when the game was far out of reach.
Coppola led the team with three shots, and a whole host of Lions had a pair.
Allie O'Keefe,
Emma Pascarella and
Ella Van Dine were among the players with two shots.
TCNJ returns to action in its first home game of the year on Wednesday when it hosts Farmingdale State at 4 p.m.
