MAHWAH, N.J. – The No. 16 TCNJ women's soccer team scored three goals in the first half on its way to a 6-0 victory over Ramapo on Saturday afternoon in the NJAC opener. TCNJ entered the game ranked sixth in scoring offense in the nation, averaging 4.4 goals per game. The Lions finished the game with 45 shots, the team's most in a game since Oct. 21, 2017 when TCNJ had 46 shots against Kean.
The Lions' offense treated the Ramapo goal as a shooting gallery in the first half, ripping 25 of those shots with 13 on goal. Lindsay O'Keefe scored her seventh goal of the season in the 12th minute off an assist to Emma Pascarella. O'Keefe was one of five different TCNJ players with three shots in the first half.
Gianna Minerva led the team with four shots in the first half, and she scored the team's second goal and her fourth of the season. Her unassisted tally gave the Lions a 2-0 lead in the 31st minute.
Ivonne Vasquez scored for the second time in as many games when she beat Ramapo keeper Madison Miskovitz in the 41st minute. O'Keefe figured into the goal with an assist.
Pascarella entered the day tied for second in the NJAC in goals, and she added to her total with her eighth of the season in the 54th minute. Sophie Vieira picked up an assist on the play. Vieira followed six minutes later with her third goal of the season to make it 5-0 TCNJ.
Ella Van Dine rounded out the scoring with a header from Minerva in the 77th minute.
TCNJ returns home to face Kean on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
