All-NJAC Field Hockey

PITMAN, N.J. – A trio of TCNJ field hockey student athletes earned major NJAC honors to highlight a huge All-NJAC awards haul, as revealed by the conference office on Friday morning.

Juniors Rayhanah Ahmed and Claire Engebreth were named Offensive Player of the Year and Co-Midfielder of the Year, respectively, while freshman Taylor Wielechowski took home Rookie of the Year honors to mark the first time three Lions received major awards since 2017.

Also named to the All-NJAC First Team, Ahmed followed up her stellar 2022 All-American campaign with an equally dominant 2023 season that saw her finish among the conference leaders with the second most assists (10), third most points (32) and fifth in goals (11). The junior has now made the All-Conference First Team for the third consecutive season, and becomes TCNJ's first Offensive Player of the Year selection since Cayla Andrews in 2019.

Engebreth built off her breakout sophomore season with five goals, six assists and 16 points in 2023 to receive her first career All-NJAC First Team nod. The junior ranked top-ten in the conference in both assists (eighth) and points (T-10th). Engebreth also becomes the program's first Midfielder of the Year selection since Kayla Peterson in 2019.

Wielechowski rounded out the trio of All-Conference First Team selections, and becomes the first Rookie of the Year winner since Ahmed in 2021. The freshman played a pivotal defensive role in the TCNJ backline, recording a pair of defensive saves and helping lead three shutouts.

Junior Bella DiNardo thrived in her first season as a full-time starter, earning All-NJAC Honorable Mention honors after scoring five goals, four assists and 14 points on the year.

Sophomore Emily Dvorsky was named as an All-NJAC Honorable Mention selection for her versatile season that includes a trio of penalty stroke goals and four defensive saves, which ranks second in the conference.

The Lions will take on No. 17 Rowan tomorrow for the NJAC Championship game, as the blue and gold look to secure the 27th conference title in program history alongside an automatic NCAA Tournament berth.
