Women’s Tennis Sweeps Past Pioneers and Roadrunners

MAHWAH, N.J. / WAYNE, N.J. – The TCNJ Women's tennis team enjoyed a near-perfect day that saw lopsided sweeps over both NJAC-opponents William Paterson and Ramapo on Tuesday.

The Lions (12-4, 5-0 NJAC) began the pair of matches with a complete sweep of the Pioneers (2-7, 0-5 NJAC), winning 9-0 without dropping even a single game. It marked the second time all season for the team to achieve the shutout mark.

Doubles saw Charlotte Roarty/Jenny Landells (No. 1), Alexa Vasile/Chase Eisenberg (No. 2) and Aira Abalos/Anusha Rangu (No. 3) all dominate, 8-0.

In Singles, each of the six ladies cruised to double-bagel victories against their respective opponents.

The team's second match of the day against Ramapo saw another completely lopsided victory, with the lone difference being lone losses in both No. 1 Doubles and No. 1 Singles.

With her two doubles sweeps, Rangu finds herself on the cusp of the 50 win milestone, as she finished the day with 48 career doubles wins.

The Lions will look to wrap up regular season NJAC play tomorrow by hosting Stockton at the Tennis Complex. The start time of the match is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
