Box Score MAHWAH, N.J. – The TCNJ men's tennis team returned to NJAC competition with a flourish on Friday, rolling past Ramapo in a 9-0 sweep.

Adrian Tsui clinched the fifth shutout of the year for the Lions (9-2, 2-0), pulling out a third-set super breaker at No. 2 singles.

Other than Tsui's close call, it was a straightforward afternoon for TCNJ, which conceded just four games in doubles play and 10 in singles competition, excluding the tight match at No. 2.

Jacob Quijano and Alberto Thomas blanked their opponents, 8-0, at No. 3 doubles to start the proceedings. Nick Matkiwsky and Akul Telluri nearly did the same before settling on an 8-1 final at No. 2, and Harrison Maitland-Carter and Matthew Michibata secured the clean sweep with an 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles.

Michibata was first off the singles courts with a 6-0, 6-0 double-bagel on the top court, and Telluri was close behind with a clinching 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6.

Brett Schuster was similarly dominant at No. 5, dropping a single game in each set.

Maitland-Carter was a 6-2, 6-2 victor at No. 3, and Derek Jordan registered a 6-0, 6-3 defeat of his adversary at No. 4.

That left it to Tsui, who dropped the first set, 6-4, before taking the second by the same score and running away with a 10-4 decision in the super breaker.

The Lions stay on the road Saturday to take on No. 39 Stevens. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
