EWING, N.J. – Four members of the TCNJ men's tennis team were recognized with Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced on Tuesday.
Harrison Maitland-Carter,
Brett Schuster,
Alberto Thomas, and
Asa Wong were all rewarded for their standout performances both in the classroom and on the court. All four are repeat honorees from a year ago, while Maitland-Carter, Schuster, and Thomas are all three-time Academic All-District recipients.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced next month.
A Finance major with a 3.84 GPA, Maitland-Carter has made his mark as one of the most decorated players in program history. A four-time all-conference selection in both singles and doubles, the Toronto native and 2025 WIAC East Player of the Year finished 14-5 in singles (primarily at No. 2) and a robust 19-3 at No. 1 doubles alongside Wong. He leaves TCNJ 2
nd all-time in doubles wins (77), 8
th in singles wins (61), and 5
th in combined wins (138).
A Mathematics major with a 3.87 GPA, Thomas was named WIAC East Player of the Year this spring, when he went 12-7 at No. 1 singles and teamed with
Nathan Chan for a 16-3 dual mark at No. 2 doubles. A 5-time all-conference performer, Thomas finished 3
rd in program history in doubles wins (70) and 8
th in combined wins (120).
A Finance major with a 3.81 GPA, Schuster went 15-5 in singles duals this season, including a 9-2 mark at his customary No. 6 position. He racked up 98 total victories for his career, with an even 49-49 split between singles and doubles, and his singles tally places him 17
th in school history.
An Interactive Multimedia major with a 3.74 GPA, Wong is a 3-time All-WIAC doubles selection and 2-time Academic All-District honoree. The doubles specialist finished with 54 victories for his career, just outside the top-20 in TCNJ history, and the last one was a monumental moment as Wong and Maitland-Carter knocked off the nation's 3
rd-ranked doubles duo in the Lions' matchup with Trinity (Texas) in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
