D'Imperio's Hat Trick Leads Women's Soccer Past Stevens

EWING N.J. –  The TCNJ women's soccer won their second game in a row on Wednesday night with a 4-0 win over Stevens Institute of Technology.

Victoria D'Imperio netted her first career hat-trick to power the Lions (5-1-1), who handed the worst loss of the season to a Ducks team that had already tied with then-No. 19 Calvin and 2022 Sweet 16 participant Scranton as well as taken former No. 1 Messiah to the wire before losing a heartbreaker in the last 15 seconds of regulation.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Lions struck first in the 13th minute on a Victoria D'Imperio goal that came by way of a Lindsay O'Keefe assist. A nice through ball from O'Keefe into the box where D'Imperio chipped a shot over the goalie into the back of the net.
  • 29 seconds later, Cassidy DiSabato took a pass from Emma Pascarella moving right and sent a shot to the bottom left corner of the net to go ahead 2-0.
  • D'Imperio netted her second goal of the game on another through ball into the box, this time coming from Caroline Rebele. D'Imperio made a nice adjustment on the ball and sent another chip-shot over the head of the Stevens goalie to close out the first half of scoring for the Lions.
  • In the second half, D'Imperio was the lone goal scorer as she secured a hat trick from another great pass by Lindsay O'Keefe. A nice pass up field from Pascarella left O'Keefe 1-on-1 with her defender. She then dumped off a pass to the middle where a cutting D'Imperio sent a missile to the back of the net.
NOTES
  • D'Imperio put together the first hat trick of her career as a Lion and reached 50 career points in the process
  • DiSabato scored her second goal of the season
  • Lindsay O'Keefe was the Lions primary facilitator with two assists on the night
  • Rebele's assist marked her first career point
  • Pascarella became the 12th player in program history to reach 20 career assists
  • Freshman Bella Norman secured her first solo shutout of the season on Wednesday night.
