CEDAR FALLS, IA.- The No. 9 ranked TCNJ wrestling team competed at the NWCA National Duals on Friday at the University of Northern Iowa. The Blue and Gold went 1-2 on the day, defeating No. 16   Loras by a score of 30-6, but falling to No. 15 Wabash and No. 10 Johnson & Wales by tallies of 25-16 and 32-11 respectively.
 
The win over Loras marked the 150^th career dual match victory for Head Coach Joe Galante as the Lions (5-3) will have a chance to place as high as 9^th with two wins tomorrow.
 
Junior Nick Sacco (165) went 3-0 on Friday picking up two wins by decision and the other by major decision. The No. 2 ranked wrestler in his class took down another Top-10 opponent on Friday with a 6-3 decision win against No. 9 Dustin Bohren of Loras.
 
No. 14 at 285, Peter Wersinger also was perfect on Friday, picking up two majors and a win by fall. To start the day, Wersinger pinned Wabash's Tim Stohl and then followed this up with back-to-back majors against Sage Walker of Loras and John Iglesias of Johnson & Wales.
 
Junior Kyle Nase (133) went 2-1 on day one of the NWCA Duals, seizing victory by decision in his first two bouts of the day against Arlie Benson (Wabash) and Aiden (Evans). His lone loss of the day came to the top wrestler in the nation, Joziah Fry.
 
Mayson Harms (149) picked up a big win for the Lions in the first dual of the day against Wabash. The freshman defeated No. 9 Daniel Uribe in an exciting match, winning by sudden victory with a takedown in overtime.
 
Wrestling the other two matches at 149, Mike Conklin picked up another huge Top-10 win for the Lions, pinning Loras' Eric Kincaid (No. 10) just 1:39 into the bout.
 
The Lions are back to the mat Saturday morning at 9 AM with a rematch from Friday against Wabash. The Lions will then either take on the winner or loser of Dubuque and Baldwin Wallace to determine their place.
