Women's Soccer Routs Rutgers-Newark

NEWARK, N.J. – The No. 10 TCNJ women's soccer team continued its rampage through the NJAC slate with a 6-0 rout of Rutgers-Newark on Saturday night in Brick City.

Abby Najdzinowicz scored her first goal for the Lions, who put six different players on the scoresheet in their third consecutive shutout, all with margins of at least four goals. Alyssa Alfano assisted on two of the goals for TCNJ (12-0-2, 6-0), which remained unbeaten and posted its seventh straight win.

It took TCNJ all of 80 seconds to get out in front, with Cassidy DiSabato scoring a solo goal.

The Lions needed much of the remainder of the half to strike again, but got a big goal from rookie Taylor Krott with 2:01 left before intermission to double their lead.

The visitors put it away with a flurry after halftime, scoring three goals in a span of less than eight minutes. Alfano set up Ella Van Dine for a tally in the 54th minute, and three minutes later Najdzinowicz opened her TCNJ account following a corner kick, resulting in assists for both Alfano and Rachel Robichaud. Victoria D'Imperio scored for the straight game in the 62nd minute, and Greta Bush capped the fireworks with 10 seconds remaining.
