WAYNE, N.J. – The TCNJ men's soccer team got one goal back late but was unable to find the other one it needed in an eventual 2-1 setback at William Paterson on Saturday.
Lucas Sample netted his first career goal in the 79
th minute for the Lions (2-11-5, 2-4-2), who trailed 2-0 after a scoreless first half. That was as close as TCNJ was able to get.
Diego Navas broke the scoreless stalemate with a goal just over three minutes into the second half for William Paterson (8-7-3, 2-6), then assisted on the second one about 15 minutes later.
Sample found the back of the net off a
Chris Meder corner with 11:34 to play, but the Lions were unable to get off another shot.
