AUBURNDALE, FL.- The TCNJ baseball team kicked off their 2024 season with a 10-1 victory against Concordia University of Chicago on Saturday morning. The Lions (1-0) exploded for eight runs in the first against the Cougars (4-5) and never looked back behind seven strong innings on the bump from LHP Jackson Malouf.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• After a quick top of the first, TCNJ pounced on their scoring opportunities, scoring eight runs on five hits.
  • Ryan Goodall doubled to score Mike LaGravenis
  • Michael Doran followed this with a sac-fly, scoring Chris Reeder
  • After a passed ball and a walk, Zach Weiner singled up the middle to score Goodall
  • Jack Haynes tripled down the first baseline to score Weiner and Schumacher
  • After another walk, LaGravenis doubled in his second at-bat of the inning to score Haynes
  • Marcario answered with another double, scoring LaGravenis and Jack O'Donnell
• In the bottom of the third, the blue & gold tacked on two more, rounding out their scoring for the game.
  • After two hits and a walk, Reeder drove in O'Donnell and Haynes with a single up the middle.
• The Cougars edged away a run in the top of the 6^th on a single through the left side.
• In the eighth, Malouf handed pitching duties over to Matt Santos for the last two innings. Santos went six up, six down to close out the win for the Lions in the season opener.
