Men's Tennis Handles No. 34 Hobart

GENEVA, N.Y. – The No. 36 TCNJ men's tennis team went on the road for the first time this spring and came back with a nationally ranked win in tow, sweeping doubles play en route to an impressive 6-3 defeat of No. 34 Hobart on Saturday.
 
FOR THE RECORD
  • TCNJ stayed perfect at 6-0, while Hobart fell to 0-3
DOUBLES SINGLES
  • The Statesmen picked up wins at No. 2 and No. 5 to get within 3-2, but Alberto Thomas notched a 7-5, 6-1 triumph at No. 4 to put the Lions on the brink
  • Michibata clinched the match in stunning style, roaring back from a set down and a 0-4 deficit in the second to down Sean Pesin 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1
  • Hobart won at No. 3, but Maitland-Carter finished off the match with a 7-5, 1-6, 10-7 decision at No. 6
NOTES
  • Saturday marked the second win over a nationally ranked foe for the Lions, who previously knocked off No. 20 RPI (then-No. 29)
  • Maitland-Carter eclipsed 50 career wins with a pair of victories
  • TCNJ avenged a 5-4 loss to Hobart a year ago
