NCAA Bracket

EWING, N.J. – The TCNJ women's tennis team will begin its NCAA Tournament journey at MIT.

The Lions will take on Manhattanville in the first round on Friday in Cambridge, as revealed during the NCAA Selection Show. Host MIT – ranked No. 11 in Division III – will face the winner of a first-round clash between Endicott and Whitman, while No. 8 Middlebury takes on Colby-Sawyer in another opening-round matchup. A win for TCNJ would pit the Lions against the Middlebury-Colby Sawyer victor in the second round on Saturday.

TCNJ earned another automatic NCAA berth after capturing its 41st consecutive NJAC title. The Lions come in at No. 40 in the ITA rankings and have won a first-round match in each of the last 16 NCAA Tournaments – though are still awaiting a breakthrough to the third round.

The Lions will bring a lineup comprised entirely of All-NJAC selections with them to Massachusetts, headlined by Player of the Year Aira Abalos and Rookie of the Year Zoey Albert.

Abalos plays No. 1 singles and is a perfect 18-0 in duals alongside Marcella Warner at No. 2 doubles, while Albert plays No. 2 singles and teamed with senior Chase Eisenberg to reach the semifinals of the ITA Northeast Region championship in the fall.

TCNJ's quartet of first-years – Albert, Warner, Prisha Priyadarshini, and Gabriella Robinson – has been exceptional this season. Warner (No. 5 singles) is 40-3 overall, while Albert is 40-9. Priyadarshini (No. 4 singles, No. 3 doubles) carries a 39-7 overall mark, and Robinson (No. 6 singles, No. 3 doubles) is 34-10.

Manhattanville is an unlikely automatic qualifier after taking a pair of 5-4 victories over second-seeded Farmingdale State and top-seeded Saint Joseph's Long Island to win the Skyline Conference, the first conference title for the team since 2006. The result was especially surprising given that the Valiants were a winless 0-10 last season.
